The Adventures of Nigasoarus and The Unsuckable

Just weeks before Singles Awareness Day, both Nikki and I had hit some turbulence in our dating lives. Neither of us were anxious to be spending the holiday in weather as cold and bitter as our hearts and thus, we decided it was time for a getaway. Despite the fact we had barely known each other a month, we planned a trip to Las Vegas. While The Vibrant Sound show may have brought us together, it wasn't until our adventures in Vegas that we really caught a glimpse of the potential in our friendship.

So Nikki and I came up with a list of 14 things we had to do on the weekend of February the 14th, and task #2 was hug a palm tree. Yes we found larger ones than this, but we just thought this one was so endearing.

We have Nikki's parents to thank for one of the highlights of our trip:
The Beatles Love Show

I know no better way of describing the show except that it was like watching Cirque du Soleil to the music of Beatles while tripping out on acid. Naturally, we were Beatles converts from there on out.

After recovering our drivers licenses that we both managed to lose, we checked off another task on our list of finally putting our 21 yr old ID's to use. We were offered VIP ticket's to the Bellagio's night club The Bank and gladly accepted. We soon discovered, however, that modest apparel and dancing that is NOT grinding is frowned upon in Vegas night clubs...even by this group of UVU boys we met.

Good thing we have as much fun, if not more, just dancing by ourselves. Sometimes it scares me how self-entertained we are.

The night did not end with The Bank. We only had a couple nights in Vegas and we were going to make the best of it. Next stop: Margaritaville. There we both ordered HUGE drinks (non-alcoholic of course) and brought some amusement to the rest of the bar that were too drunk to notice we had ordered ours virgin. They dared us to stand on our chairs and drink them and then cheered like crazy when we obliged. Shortly after we proceeded to the dance floor where we continued to wow the crowed with our strangely fantastic combination of ska, interpretive, hip-hop dancing.

After some recovery from our late (again, alcohol-free) night, we had worked up a serious appetite by the next day and we satisfied our hunger at none other than Ra Sushi.

Then it was back to Roy's for some free virgin Lava Flow's. We knocked out two tasks on this one (#4 ordering a drink at a bar and #14 getting something for free).

M&M Factory - another task on our list. Turns out it's not as exciting as we remembered it to be as kids, so we snapped a couple photos and moved on with our night.

Task #13 was to give someone a kiss on the cheek. We were walking down the strip and these guys asked to be in a picture with us so we figured it was the perfect opportunity. Nikki really went for it and planted one on the guy's cheek. I just kind of hovered my hand and lips next to his face. What can I say? Nikki is clearly a bolder woman than me.

With goodnight kisses from sketchy men on the street, our Valentines in Las Vegas was complete and we were prepared to return to the stinging cold of Provo with a little less sting in our hearts.
